SUMMARY:The EMDR Toolbox:  AIP Methods for Treating Complex PTSD  & Dissociative Personality Structure
DESCRIPTION:WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES \nParticipants will be able to recognize\, identify\, or know: \n¨A theoretical overview of EMDR-based model of dissociation\, and how it relates to the Theory of Structural Dissociation of the Personality (van der Hart\, et al\, 2006) and the Internal Family Systems model (Schwartz\, 1995). \n¨ Methods of targeting and resolving psychological defenses\, particularly avoidance defenses\, idealization defenses\, addictive defenses and shame defenses. \n¨ Research indicating  how dissociative disorders develop\, with implications for treatment. \n¨ The “Loving Eyes” method: an alternative Phase 3 Assessment. \n¨ The “Back-of-the-Head Scale”\, how to do it and when it is useful. \n¨ The method of Constant Installation of Present Orientation and Safety (CIPOS)\, how to do it\, and how it is useful with clients who are vulnerable to dissociative abreaction. \n¨ Methods of targeting shame defenses\, both in dissociative clients and in non-dissociative clients. \n¨ Targeting the problem of attachment to the perpetrator. \nBuy Ticket\n  \nAbout the Presenter: \nJim Knipe\, Ph.D. has written chapters for EMDR Casebook\, EMDR Solutions\, and Healing the Heart of Trauma and Dissociation. He has been an invited presenter for EMDRIA\, for EMDR Europe and EMDR Asia\, and for national EMDR organizations in 14 countries.
